A Note From the Chairperson
Hello everyone and welcome to the July 2026 edition of QA Today!
I am very pleased to announce that the Australian Quadball Community Survey - 2026 is LIVE and debuting right here and right now!
My decision to rejoin the Board this year was motivated by several desires:
To promote administerial transparency at the highest level
To ensure Quadball Australia can and will always act in the interests of the Australian quadball community
To generate a perspective shift away from ‘how we’ve always done things’ and encourage bold suggestions, new ideas, and creative solutions
To be involved in shaping a new era of Australian quadball
These desires continue to guide my actions as Chairperson, but they are worthless without genuine insight from the the Australian quadball community. Throughout my 7+ years in the community, I have spoken to many of you about this sport of ours. Together, we have theorised, criticised, imagined, hoped, and dreamed about what Australian quadball was, is, and could be. Now, the time has come to take give life to those ideas - and this is the purpose of the Community Survey.
I invite all current and former members to complete the Survey. If you’ve ever cared about Australian quadball, we want to hear from you. Our hope is to create a time capsule of our community, collecting the experience and ideas of everyone who’s ever been involved, in order to learn from the past and prepare for the future.
Thank you in advance to each and every one of you who completes the survey, and thank you to each and every one of you that has been a part of the Australian quadball community over the last 15 years. Your passion and dedication inspire my own efforts, and we would not be the community we are today without the time you’ve given us over the years.

Australian Quadball Community Survey is LIVE
After 15 glorious years of Australian quadball, it is time to ask the big questions, and we need YOUR help getting the answers!
Our member base, once close to 800, now barely hits the triple digits. University recruitment has dwindled; the average age of a player slowly climbs; states with storied histories have foreclosed. All this to say - it’s no secret that times are changing, for both the world and Australian quadball.
But with change comes the chance to start anew. With the gift of hindsight, we now have an opportunity to try again, to take the lessons of the past and propel ourselves into the future.
Quadball Australia is looking for answers to the big questions, and the small ones for a matter of fact. What made you join? What kept you here? What made you leave? From fresh faces to the old guard, we want your thoughts on Australian quadball!
The Community Survey features almost exclusively checkbox answers organised into six focus sections, hopefully making the answering process as painless as possible.
Our hope is to collate as much information as we can from the players that have made this sport what it is today so that we can listen, learn, and prepared for tomorrow.

2026 Annual General Meeting Date Confirmed
Quadball Australia’s 2026 Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday the 28th of October at 7pm online
All clubs and states will be required to have a nominated representative in attendance at the AGM. Calls for motions and nominations still to come
Volunteer for Aus. Quadball Club Championships
We are still in search of volunteers for everyone’s favourite club quadball competition!
You can find the volunteer application form on our social media, and in the monthly QA Today email. You can also find the application for Tournament Director and for general volunteers right here!
Select community members have also been contacted about volunteering for the Oceania-Asian Games, so make sure to check your inbox for that email too!

As promised, we now have a Drifter Hostels discount code for Sydney and ACT locations!
