A Note From the Chairperson
Apologies for the late update this month - we’ve been waiting until we could 100% confirm the Australian Quadball Club Championship date and location for 2026 and... if you keep on reading, you’ll soon find out too!
In this edition, we also provide you with an international events explainer. The purpose of this is to clarify the differences between the Oceania-Asian Games and the Asian-Pacific Quadball Cup, both of which are happening later this year in Australia. If you have any questions about these upcoming events, we invite you to reach out to us via email or by commenting on a social media post.
This month, the International Quadball Association is also asking the international community for community videos explaining what Pride Month means to you. We encourage you to consider filming a video and will be able to help with filming at the upcoming Australian National Squad training camp if you need help. The inclusivity and support of the Australian quadball community towards all matters pertaining to gender and sexuality is well known, and we would love to see that spirit reflected in the IQA’s Pride Month video.
Another fun initiative happening behind the scenes with us this month: as part of our ongoing commitment to good governance, integrity and inclusivity, all of us Board Directors will be completing a series of online learning modules through Sport Integrity Australia. These modules cover topics such as ethical decision making and the promotion of inclusivity. Once we’re finished, I’ll be sure to report back to you with the specifics of each course.
Asides from that, we’re still steadily working on the community survey, which we hope will get responses from as many of you as possible, including current and previous community members, players and volunteers. Until then, maybe consider engaging with a quadball social media post, attending a uni club’s training, or sharing the next state league day event with your friends - even the smallest actions make a huge difference to our sport.

Oceania-Asian Games? Asian Pacific Quadball Cup? Confused?
Here’s a rundown on everything international happening in Australia this year!
2026 is shaping up to be a pretty major year for Australian quadball, which is absolutely in part due to our hosting of two major international events later this year. Still not sure which is which and what they involve? Keep reading!
Oceania-Asian Games | 26-27 September: an event hosted by the International Quadball Association and falling under the banner of tournaments classified as ‘Continental Games’, the OAG brings together the national teams from countries in Oceania and Asia to play in an elite level competition. 2026 marks the very first iteration of the event, with Australia having previously participated in the 2022 European Games, since there was no Continental Games in our region. The event will take place at Landen Stadium in Seven Hills, NSW, and Australia will be sending a team selected from the Australian National Squad.
Asian Pacific Quadball Cup | 03-04 October: a grassroots event first started by the people for the people, APQC is a two-day club-level competition for club teams from countries in Oceania and Asia. 2026 marks the event’s sixth iteration, with previous tournaments in 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022, and 2024. The event will take place in _ Canberra, ACT, and all Australian quadball clubs are welcome to send a team. (Individual players/players without a team looking to play are encouraged to reach out to participating clubs to play with them.)
