Australian National Squad Update
A Note From the Chairperson
Coming into this edition of QA Today, the Board has actually been chugging along pretty steadily. Asides from some formalities regarding the Australian National Squad staff selections, there’s been nothing urgent on our plates, which has given us time to work on some of our own projects. From researching donation and advertising opportunities, to developing club resources, we’ve each been busy with our own little worlds of quadball.
Something we did come together to discuss was the International Quadball Association’s ‘Back to the Hoops‘ program and the fantastic results it’s had for Peru. As a bit of a reading group homework task, each of the Directors had to read the IQA article about the program and share something interesting they learnt from it. Engaging with content from other NGBs around the world is not only good for the sport, it’s also a fantastic way to learn from the efforts of others. Why reinvent the wheel when you could stand on the shoulders of giants? I’d highly encourage you all to go read that article and think about how you could be helping your local quadball community.
We’re still working on the Community Survey as well. Definitely in the development phase, with conversations around the kinds of information we’d love to gather from the community as well as any data that might be helpful for States or clubs to have access to.
In this edition, you’ll also find some call outs from our fellow Oceania-Asian countries looking for players for the inaugural Oceania-Asian Games. If you meet the eligibility criteria for any of these teams, please consider applying. Your interest could make the difference for determining whether or not a team is large enough to warrant attending.
If you’d like to see anything in particular in future editions of this newsletter, please feel free to reach out to me! In the meantime, thank you, as always, for supporting Australian quadball!

2026 Australian Quadball Club Championship Update
After receiving no bids on the Australian Quadball Club Championship event bidding form, Quadball Australia are still in the process of determining next steps
Unfortunately things are not yet finalised on the date and location of this year’s national club competition. Plans are underway to ensure we can update you all as soon as we can, but nothing has been confirmed at this stage.
Our hope is to hold the tournament prior to the Oceania-Asian Games, ideally on the 12-13th of September. If this falls through, then it’s likely that the tournament will be held sometime in October after the slew of international events.
I know, we’d like this finalised as well, but bear with us and we’ll get back to you all as quick as we can!
